Every year, from 6.00 pm on, for the celebration of St. Anthony the Abbot, it takes place the traditional rite of the lighting of bonfires in honour of the hermit saint, in the outdoor area of the Benedictine monastery of St. Peter (XII cent.), in Roccamontepiano. The popular tradition, associated to the Egyptian saint, is common along the piedmont territory in the province of Chieti, from Fara Filorum Petri to Casacanditella, Pretoro, Serramonacesca and Roccamontepiano.

Programme: at dusk, in the quarter of Terranova, it will take place the folk representation of the life of the Saint and the lighting of the bonfires.
