Of the middle age period, first it was a grange (a barn) of the close Monastery of St. Liberatore of Majella, but at the end of the XVI century, it became a religious house for the Monks of the ruinous Monastery of St. Cross, this last founded by the same Blessed Robert of Salle in the XIV century. Favourite disciple of Pope Celestine V (Pietro del Morrone), he has directed the monastery of the Celestins for 7 years.
